Arsenal 3-2 Sunderland: Van Persie double

Two-goal hero Robin Van Persie is challenged by Sunderland's Nyr

Theo Walcott came off the bench to help Arsenal grab the 10th straight victory which sent them back to the top of the Premier League after throwing away a two-goal lead to win 3-2 at home to Sunderland.

The England Under-21 forward had missed a great chance himself moments before a superb piece of skill on the edge of the box set up Robin van Persie to drill in the winner with 10 minutes left.
While the final result continued the Gunners' fine start to the new season, manager Arsene Wenger will be all too aware it could have proved a costly lapse in concentration which allowed the visitors back from the dead.
The hosts had raced ahead inside the opening quarter of an hour through a brilliant free-kick from Van Persie and Philippe Senderos' close-range effort.

However, Sunderland pulled a goal back through Ross Wallace, and were then level after the break when Kenwyne Jones headed in.
Van Persie - with his third goal of the week - may have won it late on, but Wenger will know there will be more similar tests to pass if they are to indeed become genuine title challengers again this season.
Arsenal started brightly and it was no surprise when they took the lead after seven minutes.
Grant Leadbitter pushed over Cesc Fabregas in a central position 20 yards out.
Abou Diaby lashed the loose ball into the net just after the referee's whistle - but the home side did not have to wait long for a goal.
Van Persie, on target in Romania earlier this week, set himself for the resulting free-kick - and promptly smashed a superb left-footed effort in off the underside of the crossbar.
Sunderland keeper Craig Gordon could not do much about that simply unstoppable shot, but the big Scot soon produced a fine reaction save.
Right-back Bacary Sagna skipped away down the flank, and his centre sat up perfectly for Emmanuel Adebayor.
The Togo striker leap above the defence to power a header goalwards, but Gordon acrobatically tipped the ball over.
However, after 14 minutes, it was 2-0, with Gordon again let down horribly by his defence.
Sunderland failed to clear their lines from a corner on the left. The ball was sent back across into the danger area.
Diaby's mis-kick saw it roll through to Philippe Senderos - who stabbed a low shot into the bottom right corner for a first Arsenal goal since January 2006.
The visitors were in danger of getting torn apart at every attack.
Sunderland were fortunate not to have been further behind after 20 minutes when Alexander Hleb's cross was swept in at the far post by Diaby - only for the assistant to flag for what looked a poor offside call against Mathieu Flamini in the middle.
Sunderland snatched a lifeline in the 24th minute.
A long punt up field saw Jones get ahead of full-back Gael Clichy. His angled shot was well saved by Manuel Almunia.
However, the loose ball fell to Ross Wallace on the edge of the area, who controlled it on his chest before calmly stroking it into the net.
Sunderland were understandably lifted by the goal, and suddenly found themselves with a spell of possession in the Arsenal half.
However, the Gunners were dangerous on the counter attack.
Van Persie let fly with a fierce effort from 25 yards following a quick break, which Gordon tipped over.
From the resulting corner on the right, Senderos lost his marker at the far post, but somehow the Swiss defender headed wide from four yards.
However, Sunderland were back on level terms within three minutes of the restart.
The ball was worked out to Liam Miller on the left.
His deep cross looped into the Arsenal six-yard box, and Jones got up above Clichy to send a downward header past Almunia - to the clear delight of the massed travelling ranks behind the goal.
Arsenal were within inches of going ahead again when Kolo Toure picked the ball up and cracked a 30-yard screamer goalwards, which came back off the inside of Gordon's right-hand post.
Walcott, sent on with 33 minutes left, had his moment to grab the headlines when Hleb got inside down the left and cut the ball back to the far post, but he completely missed his kick from four yards.
However, the former Southampton trainee redeemed himself when he showed great close control to step his marker on the edge of the box and put in Van Persie, who drilled a low shot past Gordon into the bottom right corner.
Sunderland finished the game with 10 men when Paul McShane was shown a straight red for clattering into Hleb with his knee when the Arsenal winger was on the floor.
Walcott struck the base of the post in stoppage time with an angle drive from the right, but by then it did not matter.

Arsene Wenger felt his Arsenal side had learnt a valuable lesson after throwing away a two-goal lead to recover and beat Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium, which sent them back to the top of the Premier League.
The hosts had raced ahead inside the opening quarter of an hour through a brilliant free-kick from Robin van Persie and Philippe Senderos' close-range effort.

The break-through eventually came - after Kolo Toure had hit the post from 30 yards and Walcott missed a sitter - when van Persie drilled in with 10 minutes left following good work from Walcott.
Sunderland finished the game with 10 men when Paul McShane was shown a straight red for clattering into Alexander Hleb with his knee when the Arsenal winger was on the floor.
Wenger felt it was an experience which will serve his young side well for the battles which lie ahead over the next seven months.
'After 15 minutes, the game looked to be easy and maybe we convinced ourselves of that as well,' said Wenger.
'Part of our mental focus went - when you do that at this level, you pay for it.
'At the end of the day it was a good lesson for us maturing, because again we still found the resources which showed that there is something in the team which is really strong.
'It was the first time since we were at the top of the league that we had been a bit challenged today.'
Before Sunderland scored their first goal, it looked as if Arsenal had gone 3-0 up when Abou Diaby scored at the far post following a cross by Hleb.
However, the assistant referee flagged for what looked a poor offside decision against Mathieu Flamini in the centre.
The decision perplexed Wenger, who said: 'Frankly, it was a third goal. I do not know how he could disallow that goal.
'It certainly would have changed the game completely at 3-0.
'You can only live with the decisions which are made.
'In the end we found the third goal, which always looked like it was coming, but sometimes you never know.'
Wenger was impressed with the contribution of 18-year-old Walcott, who has worked back to fitness following a shoulder problem.
The Arsenal boss said: 'I felt that we needed some pace to go in behind them, and Theo gave us something which certainly helped determine the result today.'
Wenger, however, continues to urge cautious optimism for his side, which is now on their best run since the 2003/2004 season.
Wenger said: 'It is too early, but what is a good sign is there is a great resilience in the team and that they do not panic.
'The potential is there to be very good, but the competition at that level in the Premier League is very difficult.
'We still had problems against Sunderland, who are down the league, and that shows we have to stay humble and work for each other.'
Sunderland manager Roy Keane admitted his side had given themselves it all to do following their poor start today, but was happy enough with the response.
'I told them to be solid for first 10 or 15 minutes, and they obviously did not listen,' he said.
'If you get off to a poor start, you think that it could be five or six.
'But we stayed in game and got a decent first goal, then got level and thought we were in with chance.
'If you are not at the races in the Premier League, then you are going to get beat.'
However, the Sunderland manager felt his team emerged with great credit.
'You have to look at the positives,' said Keane.
'I keep talking about the attitude and character, and also there was some very good play today.
'The lads gave it their all.
'But you need a hell of a lot of luck to get positive results at these grounds. We had a bit, but just not enough.'
Keane added: 'We are not a bad team, but the next gap is the biggest one.
'We need to turn these performances into results.'
On the sending off, which happened right in front of the away dugout, Keane reflected: 'I think the referee was very quick to get the red card out, and maybe could have spoken to the assistant.
'However, once we have seen it again, if we feel Paul was out of order, then he will be disciplined.'
Keane, meanwhile, believes his old club Manchester United have the 'edge' over Arsenal in terms of the title race.
He said: 'It is nothing to do with the result yesterday or today, I just feel United are probably just a touch ahead.'

Van Persie crashes into old Ljungberg
Barclays Premier League leaders Arsenal maintained their superb start to the season with a hard-earned 1-0 win at West Ham.

Robin van Persie's close-range header on 13 minutes proved enough for an eighth straight victory.
West Ham, though, had their chances - the best of which fell to England hopeful Dean Ashton - but they also were indebted to keeper Rob Green, who made a string a fine saves.
The Hammers have performed well against Arsenal in recent meetings - winning both games last season as they escaped the drop. However, the Gunners are currently in blistering form and again started brightly.

Inside the opening two minutes Arsenal broke quickly down the left, with Abou Diaby cutting the ball back to Emmanuel Adebayor, who drilled a low shot just wide from 15 yards.
West Ham, though, soon rallied and former Gunner Freddie Ljungberg was unfortunate to be flagged offside when collecting a quick backheel from Ashton on the edge of the Arsenal box.
The England hopeful was then sent clear himself, only to again be called up by the referee's assistant on the far side.
Ashton was leading the West Ham line with plenty of aggression, and turned to drill a 20-yard shot just over.
Arsenal, though, were ahead on 13 minutes.
Adebayor held the ball up well on the right side of the area and fed a pass out to Alexander Hleb.
His centre flew across the six-yard box, where van Persie arrived on queue at the far post to glance a header past Green, who was at full stretch and could only push the ball onto the post and in.
The goal silenced the home crowd, and after such a positive start the Hammers suddenly looked disjointed.
As the half-hour approached, West Ham were fortunate not to be reduced to 10 men following an X-rated challenge by Mark Noble on Hleb.
The Belarus midfielder, just back from a knee problem, had to be carried off with what looked like a similar injury and was replaced by Emmanuel Eboue.
Arsenal were incensed, but referee Alan Wiley deemed a yellow card sufficient punishment.
West Ham continued to try to take the match to Arsenal, but the visitors were playing with a high defensive line and used the offside trap well.
When the hosts did get in behind, they could not find a telling cross into the danger zone.
At the other end, Lee Bowyer was penalised for handball just outside the area on the right.
Van Persie struck his effort goalwards, which Green palmed behind.
Mathieu Flamini tried his luck with a low, 20-yard strike which the West Ham keeper got down well to stop.
The hosts replaced Scott Parker, who looked to have picked up a knock, at the restart and were then quickly forced into another change when Anton Ferdinand hobbled off and Danny Gabbidon came on.
Van Persie came within inches of putting the visitors 2-0 ahead on 54 minutes.
The Dutchman side-stepped marker Gabbidon on the edge of the area, and drilled his shot towards the top left-hand corner.
Green was again at full stretch and got his fingertips to the ball, which this time bounced back off the post and away.
Moments later it should have been 1-1 after Bowyer chipped the ball into the area from the right.
Ashton had timed his run perfectly to get a free header at the back post, only to then nod it straight at a grateful Manuel Almunia.
This was a good spell for West Ham. Ljungberg did get the ball into the net when he collected Henri Camara's slide pass - but was flagged offside in what looked a marginal call.
However, Arsenal were dangerous on the break.
Van Persie and Adebayor exchanged passes on the edge of the West Ham box, which sent the Togo striker clear and Green came to the rescue with a fine reaction save low to his left.
Arsenal full-back Gael Clichy was the next man to force a good save from Green, the England international again at full stretch to turn the ball behind.
The Gunners made a change with 12 minutes left when Gilberto replaced Adebayor, who looked to have a dead leg, before Green once more pushed a goal-bound strike behind, this time from Flamini.
Van Persie booted a downward header from Ashton clear in front of his own net as the Gunners closed out the match - including four minutes of stoppage time - to stay ahead of the chasing pack.

Arsene Wenger praised his battling Arsenal side following the hard-fought 1-0 win at West Ham which kept them top - but was less than impressed by the x-rated tackle from Mark Noble which saw Alexander Hleb stretchered off.

West Ham keeper Robert Green produced a string of fine saves to deny the visitors a further advantage and indeed the home side could have earned a point had England hopeful Dean Ashton not spurned a great chance with his close-range header.
Large spells of the match were played out in a competitive manner, with little quarter given - particularly in midfield where Arsenal pair Cesc Fabregas and Mathieu Flamini were in the thick of the action.
Wenger was, though, unhappy with the lunging challenge from Noble, which was punished only by a yellow card but which left Hleb - just back from injury - with a badly bruised knee and out of next week's Champions League trip to Steaua Bucharest.
The Arsenal manager said: 'To me it looked very nasty, although I haven't seen it again.
'If it was an accident, it is a very bad accident, because if you see his leg it is unbelievable.
'It is red and bruised from the knee down to the toes.
'We are quite optimistic because Noble is usually a fair player. I don't know if it was an accident or not, but he caught him very well.'
Wenger revealed: 'I don't think Hleb will play on Tuesday because he cannot walk properly at the moment.
'[Emmanuel] Adebayor had a kick on the thigh, and he looks like he has a good chance to play on Tuesday night.'
The Gunners boss, celebrating 11 years in charge of Arsenal, was pleased to see his table-toppers come through a tough test which they have often failed in recent seasons to record a first win at West Ham since 2000.
Wenger said: 'We had a bit of apprehension because we lost here last season and this was a big test.
'We started with the handbrake on but the goal helped. We didn't make the same mistake we made at Blackburn. We continued to play and move forward and try and score the second goal. 'Unfortunately we didn't get that but we deserved it.'
Wenger added: 'There's room for improvement but I am very proud of what the team is achieving at the moment.
'I believe we can challenge. We are very young, but we have to show we can eke out results.
'Everywhere we go we try and play and improve - today was a bit different because West Ham made it hard for us to do that.
'We had a lot to deal with in the air and with the second ball, so it was important for us to keep the pace of the game high.
'We did that in the second half and I think that shows the team is maturing tactically.'
West Ham could consider themselves somewhat unfortunate not to come away with a point, rather than a second successive league defeat.
Former Gunner Freddie Ljungberg had a goal chalked out for a marginal offside call, and Ashton also went close more than once.
However, by the same token, without Green's performance, they could have been beaten by a much bigger margin.
Manager Alan Curbishley, who lost key midfielder Scott Parker to injury at half-time, said: 'When a side like Arsenal get their noses in front away from home, they're set up to be a very difficult side to play.
'But Arsenal are a top four team and you need a few things to go for you - and you certainly don't need to go one down after 10 minutes.'
Curbishley added: 'We competed as well as we could and we're disappointed we couldn't get back in it.
'If we had, it would have been anyone's match but Arsenal defended very well and got bodies in the way.'

Arsenal flourish in age of change

Emmanuel Eboue has found his attacking impetus employed further
Gilberto: Brazilian changeling converted from midfielder to cent
Arsene Wenger's vice-like grip over the reins of power at Arsenal is matched, if his testimony is accurate, by his grasp on the remote control in his North London house.


The Arsenal manager is adamant his viewing habits do not extend beyond the global game. Yet if Wenger ignores the plethora of home makeover shows, his management shares similar principles.
Operating where potential is the operative world and the value of an asset can be multiplied if used for a different purpose, Wenger's ability to reinterpret players means he sees more than flesh and bones where others identify more than mere bricks and mortar.
Where some players' positions are set in stone, Arsenal's must be altogether more malleable. More than any of his contemporaries, Wenger has shown a willingness to alter his charges' duties. The two latest to discover his zeal to amend them are Gilberto Silva and Emmanuel Eboue. The Brazilian's solidity was invaluable in midfield last season, but there is increasing evidence that Wenger views his future in defence.
If Gilberto's outings at centre-back last season were seen as an emergency measure and his first appearance of the season there, against Manchester City, was a consequence of Philippe Senderos' late withdrawal, Arsenal's business at the end of the transfer window was telling nonetheless.
It involved the arrival of an anchor midfielder, Lassana Diarra, and the departure of a central defender, Johan Djourou, albeit on loan. Excluding Gilberto, that has left Arsenal with three specialist centre-backs and five central midfielders.
Moreover Diarra, like his fellow Frenchman Mathieu Flamini, is best suited to the holding role in midfield that was Gilberto's domain.
Add in Abou Diaby's physicality, which compounds his physical resemblance to Patrick Vieira, and his aptitude for a tackling role is evident. Cesc Fabregas' emergence as the dominant figure in the centre of pitch means a solitary spot is available alongside him and Arsenal's 'Invisible Wall' is, it appears, becoming a defensive barrier.
But while Gilberto moves backwards, Eboue appears to be making the opposite journey. In his brief career as a first-choice, the Ivorian has emerged as the most exhilarating right-back in the Premier League.
Now Eboue, the closest equivalent to Cafu seen in England, seems to have been told to make his turbo-charged bursts from a more advanced position on the right flank. The sale of Freddie Ljungberg, following 12 months after Robert Pires and Jose Antonio Reyes made their final Arsenal appearances in the Champions League final, has left a shortage of specialists on the wings.
If some measures since then - such as the very right-footed Diaby's occasional station on the left of midfield - appear a stop-gap, others, like Eboue's move, have an air of permanence about them. This is, in part, because of the recruitment of Bakary Sagna, who shares many characteristics with Eboue. The French right-back's assured start, especially on his Champions League bow against Sevilla, suggests he has been signed as a first choice.
The ability to identify the attributes that would enable a player to prosper elsewhere has long been a hallmark of Wenger's.
Others deployed on the flanks have been, or will be, subject to his conversions. Tomas Rosicky and Alexander Hleb both arrived as central midfielders. Neither has been fully remodelled as a winger, as their tendency to drift infield shows, but both are perceived differently in the Premier League than they were in the Bundesliga. Prior to that, Pires and Ljungberg, hitherto usually central players, found themselves redefined as the wide midfielders. Theo Walcott, meanwhile, knows his long-term switch will be to a striking role, even if it will not happen for several seasons.
The precedent for that has been set. Thierry Henry was an exceptionally quick winger when Wenger bought him. He left as Arsenal's record goalscorer and the most notable example of the Arsenal manager's facility to recognise talent and where it could be best deployed.
Henry, however, is not alone. Emmanuel Petit was Monaco's left-back when Wenger persuaded him to divert his taxi to Tottenham to visit his old manager. Within 12 months, he had formed half of an impenetrable barrier Wenger had constructed in front of the Arsenal back four (with Patrick Vieira), helped them to the double and become a World Cup-winning midfielder.
Lauren was recruited as a midfielder and found himself reinvented as a right-back. Kolo Toure spent his first season at Arsenal as a multi-purpose substitute, seen most often in midfield and, unsuccessfully, as a left-back against PSV Eindhoven.
When Tony Adams retired, Toure was placed in the heart of the defence for the Community Shield against Manchester United. It was interpreted as a short-term switch, but was the prelude to a permanent move. Four years later, he ranks among the division's best defenders, his initial season appearing an excellent apprenticeship in Arsenal's ways.


Flamini, having had his, found Wenger had identified qualities the midfielder himself did not know he possessed, enabling him to become an accomplished left-back at the end of the 2005-6 season. ‘Bersama Membina Negara dan Menikmati Kemakmuran’,
mencerminkan hasrat kerajaan untuk mempastikan kekayaan negara terus berkembang dan dapat dinikmati oleh semua rakyat.

kinda tak heboh.... cukai tak naik banyak siut...

Dengan itu, Bajet kali ini akan memberi tumpuan kepada 3 strategi utama:

Pertama: Mempertingkatkan Daya Saing Negara;
Kedua: Memperkasa Pembangunan Modal Insan; dan
ketiga: menjamin kesejateraan rakyat.



Sebanyak RM176.9 bilion diperuntukkan untuk Bajet 2008 –
RM128.8 bilion untuk perbelanjaan operasi dan
RM48.1 bilion untuk perbelanjaan pembangunan.
RM64 bilion atau 49.6 peratus perbelanjaan mengurus ialah untuk pemberian dan kenaan bayaran tetap,
RM36.2 bilion untuk emolumen,
RM25.5 bilion untuk bekalan dan perkhidmatan,
RM2.1 bilion untuk pembelian aset dan
RM1.13 juta untuk perbelanjaan lain.

Peruntukan terbesar ialah untuk perbelanjaan pembangunan yang melibatkan
RM20.6 bilion untuk sektor pertanian, industri dan infrastruktur;
RM15.6 bilion untuk pendidikan, kesihatan dan perumahan;
RM7.0 bilion untuk sektor keselamatan;
RM2.9 bilion untuk pentadbiran; dan
RM2.0 bilion untuk simpanan luar jangka.

Kerajaan menjangkakan dapat mengurangkan defisit fiskal kepada 3.2 peratus daripada Keluaran Dalam Negara Kasar (KDNK) pada 2007 berbanding 3.3 peratus pada 2006.

Defisit Fiskal dikurangkan lagi kepada 3.1 peratus pada 2008.

Pertumbuhan ekonomi pada 2008 disasarkan antara 6.0-6.5 peratus pada 2008.


Lets we make it simple:


Pendidikan:
- Peruntukan RM30 bilion untuk pendidikan.
- Yuran sekolah dimansuhkan.
- Skim pinjaman buku teks diperluaskan kepada semua pelajar tanpa
mengira pendapatan isi rumah dan bilangan anak yang layak.
- Elaun guru pendidikan khas ditingkatkan dari RM100 kepada RM250
sebulan.
- Elaun guru ganti berkelulusan ijazah daripada RM85 kepada RM150
sehari.
- Menyediakan elaun RM60 sejam bagi lepasan ijazah dan RM50 sejam
bagi lepasan diploma kepada guru yang mengajar bahasa Cina dan Tamil
di sekolah kebangsaan.
- Mengecuali cukai pendapatan bagi sekolah rendah dan menengah yang
dibiayai oleh badan amanah dan pertubuhan amal. Ia akan memberi
manfaat kepada sekolah Cina, Tamil dan sekolah agama.
- Menaikkan elaun sara hidup pelajar di semua peringkat pengajian tinggi
tempatan termasuk kursus persediaan dan kursus bahasa, antara 23
peratus sehingga 84 peratus, berkuatkuasa mulai semester sesi 2007.
- Elaun sara hidup pelajar di Amerika Syarikat, United Kingdom dan
Kanada sehingga 97 peratus, berkuatkuasa september 2007.
- RM105 juta untuk membina 280 Tabika baru menjadi jumlahnya lebih
7,600.
- RM70 juta kemudahan sosial dan RM15 juta pendidikan ICT di luar
bandar.
- Pelepasan cukai sehingga RM5,000 bagi semua bidang pengajian
peringkat lepasan ijazah, serta di peringkat sarjana dan doktor falsafah.



Warga Emas & OKU:
- RM2 bilion bon diterbit oleh Bank Negara untuk dilanggani warga emas 55
tahun ke atas - maksimum RM50 seorang.
- Kadar bantuan untuk warga emas dinaikan dari RM200 kepada RM300
sebulan berkuatkuasa 1 Januari 2008.
Elaun bulanan orang kurang upaya (OKU) naik dari RM200 kepada
RM300.
- Bantuan khas RM300 sebulan kepada penjaga OKU yang terlantas dan
pesakit penyakit kronik.
- Potongan cukai kepada majikan bagi kos ubahsuai tempat kerja bagi
pekerja OKU.


Perumahan :
- RM381 juta untuk Program perumahan untuk rakyat - RM191 juta untuk
program perumahan rakyat (PPR) disewa dan RM190 juta bagi PPR
bersepadu.
- Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) mempergiatkan pembinaan
6,000 unit (program pemulihan rumah terbengkalai), 36,000 unit
(program perumahan mampu milik) dan 4,000 (program rumah mesra
rakyat).
- Pengecualian duti setem 50 peratus diberi atas dokumen pemindahan
bagi pembelian sebuah rumah, bagi jumlah tidak melebihi RM250,000
seunit.


Special for Sabah & Serawak :
- RM8 bilion untuk tingkat kualiti hidup di Sabah dan Sarawak - antaranya,
membina jalan dan menaikan taraf jalan, perkhidmatna kesihatan luar
bandar, kemudahan hospital, perumahan kos rendah, bekalan elektrik
dan air.
- RM200 juta pergiat aktiviti pelancongan di Sabah dan Sarawak.
- RM800 juta untuk meningkatkan pendapatan dan taraf hidup bumiputera
di Sabah dan Sarawak.

Kwsp :
- Pencarum KWSP dibenar keluar baki Akaun 2 mereka setiap bulan untuk
tujuan membantu pembayaran ansuran pinjaman perumahan.

- KWSP akan menyalurkan dana RM7 bilion untuk diurus oleh syarikat
syarikat pengurusan dana Islam.


Rakyat & Basmi kemiskinan:
- RM214 juta untuk tujuan pembasmian kemiskinan, antaranya langkah
meningkatkan isu rumah, memperkukuh pembangunan modak insan
serta memberi bantuan perumahan kepada golongan miskin tegar.
- RM117 juta diperuntukkan bagi melaksanakan program pengurangan
kemiskinan dan program lonjakan mega untuk menjana pendapatan
penduduk di kawasan kurang maju dan terpencil.
- RM680 juta untuk membina jalan luar bandar dan jalan kampung.
- RM462 juta untuk projek bekalan air dan elektrik luar bandar.
- RM170 juta untuk meningkatkan taraf kehidupan masyarakat Orang Asli.
- RM782 juta diperuntukan untuk Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita,
Keluarga dan Masyarakat untuk program pembangunan kapasiti dan
kemahiran wanita, khususnya ibu tungga.
- RM10 juta bagi NGO memberi latihan kepada surirumah mengenai
kaedah penjagaan bayi dan kanak-kanak.
- RM1 bilion untuk projek tebatan banjir termasuk di Sungai Muda, Sungai
Kelantan, Sungai Damansara, Sungai Prai dan projek mengatasi banjir
Kuala Lumpur.
- Pengecualian cukai sehingga RM6,000 bagi setiap tahun perkhidmatan
bagi pekerja swasta yang bersara wajib pada umur 50 hingga kurang
daripada 55 tahun.
- Pelepasan cukai individu sehingga maksimum RM300 setahun bagi
pembelian peralatan sukan dan senaman.
- Surat cara pindah milik hartanah atara suami isteri atas dasar kasih
sayang dikecuali daripada stem duti.

Polis:
- RM6 bilion untuk Pasukan Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) untuk banteras
jenayah, tambah anggota.



Syarikat:
- Cukai Korporat pada 2008 ialah 26 peratus dan pengurangan lanjut
sebanyak 25 peratus pada 2009.
- Pengecualian cukai setem ke atas instrumen berkaitan penggabungan
dan pengambilalihan syarikat senarai awam (PLC) akan dilanjutkan
hingga 31 Disember, 2010.
- Membenarkan syarikat pengurusan dana Islam memiliki sehingga 100
peratus pegangan asing.
- Membenarkan keseluruhan aset yang diurus oleh syarikat pengurusan
dana Islam dilabur di luar negara
- Pengecualian cukai hingga 2016 akan diberikan bagi membiayai syarikat
pengurusan dana atas semua yuran yang diterima berhubung aktiiti
pengurusan dana Islam.
- Bagi menarik pelaburan dari Timur Tengah, insentif cukai akan diberikan
untuk syarikat pembrokeran sedia ada bagi menubuhkan anak syarikat
pembrokeran Islam.
- Tiga lesen baru broker saham akan ditawarkan kepada syarikat
terkemuka yang boleh menarik dana dan menjadi pengantara bagi aliran
perniagaan dan urus niaga di Timur tengah.
- Bagi mempromosikan lagi industri Takaful, beberapa cukai lain akan
ditingkatkan, termasusk pemotongan cukai atas pembahagian
keuntungan yang diagihkan.
- Syarikat Luar Persisir Labuan diberi opsyen untuk dicukai di bawah Akta
Cukai Pendapatan 1967.


WIP:
- Kerajaan menyediakan peruntukan tambahan RM100 juta untuk menarik
pelaburan berkaitan perkhidmatan kesihatan di WPI.
- Pelaburan Hartanah Bumiputera Bhd mewujudkan dana RM400 juta bagi
meningkatkan pelaburan hartanah Bumiputera di Wilayah Pembangunan
Iskandar (WPI).
- Wilayah Ekonomi Pantai Timur, Koridor Sabah dan Koridor Sarawak akan
dilancarkan tidak lama lagi.


misc:
PKS akan diberikan kelonggaran dua tahun untuk membayar cukai pada akhir tahun kewangan berbanding ansuran bulanan.

Pengecualian cukai jualan dan duti import akan diberikan ke atas peralatan jalur lebar dan peranti akses pengguna.

RM12 bilion akan dibelanjakan dalam empat tahun akan datang, bagi meningkatkan sistem pengangkutan awam di Kuala Lumpur dan Pulau Pinang.

Projek Jalan Lingkaran Luar Pulau Pinang akan dilaksanakan menerusi tender tidak lama lagi.

Pembentangan Bajet 2008 oleh Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi di Dewan Rakyat, dilihat menjuruskan kepada persediaan parti pemerintah untuk menghadapi pilihanraya umum yang akan datang, yang dijangka diadakan awal tahun depan.

Ini dapat dilihat kepada penekanan yang diberikan oleh kerajaan dalam intipati bajet kali ini untuk mengurangkan beban golongan berpendapatan rendah, sebahagian besarnya di luar bandar yang merupakan majoriti pengundi dalam pilihanraya serta pengundi setia kerajaan, khususnya Umno.
